SITCOM duo Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill have put their bitter feud behind them — to bring back comedy classic Still Game.

The bad news is the pair won’t be appearing as Jack and Victor in the new stage version of the BBC show.

Instead, the former best friends have given permission for an unknown cast to perform as the cheeky pensioners and their pals at Ayr’s Gaiety Theatre in July.

It’ll be the first time regular live audiences have had the chance to enjoy Still Game since Hemphill and Kiernan’s bust-up in 2007.

Last night Christopher McKiddie — who plays Victor — admitted it was a “huge responsibility”. He said: “Like the whole county I loved Still Game dearly. So I constantly worry about doing it justice.”

But Christopher, John Love — who stars as Jack — and the rest of the cast from the Sonic Boom Theatre Company have already got the thumbs-up from Hemphill, 43.

He attended a one-off charity performance recently and Christopher said: “He was brilliant. He said it was like ‘an out of body experience’.”

Director Claire Sheppard added: “We approached Greg and Ford separately. They both agreed and even waived their royalties fee, which is really generous.”
